AMY BECKE

Amy Becke was born in South Shields, North East England. She graduated from Ballet West Scotland with a First-Class BA Honours degree and, during her training, toured Malaysia performing Swan Lake with the Ballet West International touring company.

After graduating, Amy continued her professional development with Ballet Cymru 2, performing in Romeo and Juliet and creating new work with choreographers Marcus Jarrell Willis and Jack Philp.
​
In 2021, she earned an MA in Advanced Dance Performance with Distinction from Dance City, which led to touring across England with works by Southpaw Dance Company, Alleyne Dance, and Mischief Company.
​
Amy has participated in various research and development projects with North East-based companies and independent artists. Her performance highlights include being part of BBC Young Dancer 2022 and participating in Eliot Smith Dance’s 2025 Winter Intensive.

She has taught ballet for Dance City’s public classes, assisted on their Centre for Advanced Training (CAT) programme, and engagement departments. In 2024, Amy was a dancer with Fertile Ground, and Company of Others, and she is also the founder and director of North East Dance Project.
In April 2025, Amy joined Eliot Smith Dance (ESD). Her current credits include performing Eclipse by Robert Cohan as part of ESD Presents.
