INTENSIVES

Eliot Smith Dance (ESD) Intensives offer an immersive experience, where students are introduced to ESD style based upon the foundational techniques of Martha Graham and the dynamic repertory of ESD.

 

These intensives combine contemporary dance, ballet, cross-training, and somatic practices to nurture the dancer’s physical and mental well-being. In addition to rigorous technique classes, students engage in thoughtful discussions, video viewings, and Q&A sessions, allowing them to gain a deeper understanding of Eliot Smith's creative vision. Through this process, dancers not only refine their technical skills but also develop a greater awareness of their role in the evolution of contemporary dance as an art form.
